Coastal Cleanup Day in Huntington Beach!
The City of Huntington Beach is hosting a Coastal Cleanup Day next Saturday, September 20th and Orange County’s favorite gnome just so happens to be invited. You can find me manning (gnoming?) a booth near the pier from 9 am to noon. Stop by, play some games, and be sure to say, “Hi!”
In fact, with more than 40 sites throughout the County, no matter where you are there is a cleanup day near you. In 2013 more than 58,000 volunteers came together to pick up nearly 750,000 pounds of trash that could have been washed onto our beaches. The only way we’ll surpass 2013 is with your help, so sign up today!
Cleanups are a great way to keep our amazing beaches clean while enjoying a fabulous day at the beach or park. Come alone and meet up with like-minded volunteers, gather a group of friends to participate in a day of impact, or bring the family and make it an outing! I’m always eager to meet up with my fans, so drop by and let me hear what clean beaches mean to you!
