Study Up For Spring

If you’re like me, you’re already getting that Spring itch and thinking about your garden. We’ve already covered a few easy steps you can take to start going California Friendly, but what if you want more? A lot more?

Well the experts at the Municipal Water District of Orange County are offering just the course for you! The California Friendly Landscape Training Program is a formalized curriculum to transform you into a semi-pro so that you can transform your garden.

Here’s the pitch:

The residential program features a three-hour class covering the following topics: Taking a Watershed Approach; Building a Healthy Soil Sponge; Evaluating and Designing Your Site; Selecting the Right Plant in the Right Place; Using Rainwater as a Resource; and Managing Your Irrigation Properly.

You can find a list of dates and locations by clicking here.

Even better, they have an online course as well that covers Landscape Design; Plants, Sprinkler Systems; and Watering and Fertilizing. Even if you can’t make it to a class, you can learn at your home.

You can find the online course and all materials at the program’s website. If you’re interested in joining, add a comment below to encourage your gneighbors to do the same! We’ll share your enthusiasm up the chain to make sure they know how valuable these classes are!

I also think that educating others on the amount of water that is being washed away when washing your car will save CA billions of gallons of water per year. We now use a waterless car care product, and are trying to promote it. Any chance of getting some funding? We;re just 3 gals trying to do good and make a little $. Thank you.

By the way my sign stand proud in my front lawn!!
